Hands-on and application based learning, with the child at the centre of our curriculumis the principle followed at our school and is the basis of our teaching-learning process. The curriculum is designed and lessons are planned keeping in mind varying learning styles of the children and are an amalgamation of different media to appeal to all types of learners. The pedagogy focuses on developing necessary skills in the children that enable them to be lifelong learners and encourages high order thinking through collaborative and experiential learning opportunities within and outside the classrooms.
The student’s academic progress and skill development in co curricular initiatives is reviewed and discussed with the child and the parents at the end of each term through detailed assessment reports.
We do not have a formal test/examination system till Class V, however, the teaching learning process provides for ongoing assessments and evaluation of the required skills through hands on activities and projects. In Classes IV & V, only mathematical skills are marked and graded.
Formal assessments begin only from Middle school (Class VI) through planned Formative and Summative assessments involving Cluster tests, projects, presentations and quizzes, which aim at assessing the skills required for each subject. A record of the overall progress of the child in academic, physical and cognitive skills is maintained by the teachers and teaching learning strategies are devised for enhancing the child’s abilities.
