How will I be informed about the progress of my child?

There are regular Parent Teacher Meetings held in school. While formal report cards are given twice a year, a system of non-reporting Parent Teacher Meets is also followed. Parents can also meet the specific teachers through a prior appointment.

How will I know what’s happening in my child’s classroom and in the school?

The school communicates with parents through the portal, website, Facebook, newsletters, broadcast messages, e-mail and school diaries. Scheduled communication between teachers and parents includes parent-teacher meetings, end-of-the-term reporting and meeting by prior appointment. Apart from these scheduled meetings, teachers meet with parents whenever a need arises, and much informal communication takes place at the many school events. The school website offers a vast amount of information on the school and its programs and events. Workplan, weekly updates, homework, assignments, worksheets, syllabus, date sheet are also put up on the Portal, which the students are expected to log on to regularly. It is strongly recommended that parents log on to the website and social media pages to remain aware of the school events.

Scheme of Work (SOW), Home Connect Letter (HCL) and home assignments will also be put up on the portal which the students and parents are expected to log on to regularly.

How can parents be involved in the schools?

The schools encourage the involvement of parents. There is an active Parent Teacher Association (PTA) which meets periodically to discuss the infrastructural and academic issues of the schools. Suggestions are taken seriously, and solutions are incorporated. They are also encouraged to volunteer for and work with the school in holding workshops, escorting students for trips and taking the initiative for any other program they feel fit.

Does the Senior International Program wing offer career counselling to students?

The Shriram Millennium Schools have a dedicated Career Advisory Department (CAD) with experienced and trained Career Advisors. The Career Advisors provide necessary support and regular guidance to our students to explore various higher education options available globally and make well-considered choice of universities and programmes.

Does your school have an Alumni Association?

Our Alumni portal is active and keeps our alumni connected with the school community. Additionally, our existing students can connect with the alumni for support and advice on their future academic journey and career options. It is a pleasure to have our alumni return to the schools to be a part of various events strengthening the bond.

What curriculum does the school follow?

The school is a proposed International Baccalaureate Class V school affiliated with the International Baccalaureate.

What is the teacher-to-student ratio in the schools?

The teacher-to-student ratio is 1:8.

How many languages are taught in The Shriram Millennium School International Junior?

The primary medium of instruction at the school is English. However, we promote multilingualism, offering students the opportunity to learn additional languages, such as Hindi, French, and Spanish, from grade 1 onwards.

What is special about the teaching-learning method of The Shriram Millennium Schools?

Our school follows the principle of hands-on and application-based learning, with the child at the centre of our curriculum. Our teaching-learning process is designed to cater to varying learning styles and promotes inquiry. We use a mix of different media to appeal to all types of learners. At TSMS, student assessment is integral to the learning process, focusing on three key types: assessment for learning (ongoing feedback to guide progress), assessment of learning (measuring achievement at specific points), and assessment as learning (promoting student reflection and ownership of learning). These assessments are continuous and diverse, ensuring a holistic evaluation of students through monitoring (ongoing observation), documenting (portfolios, journals), measuring (formal assessments like projects and presentations), and reporting (interim and semester reports to stakeholders). This approach supports both academic growth and personal development.

Does the school provide inclusive education?

In line with the school’s philosophy, The Shriram Millennium Schools provide inclusive education and ensure that every child is sensitised to appreciate and respect differences. The school encourages all children, regardless of their differences, to achieve their full potential in an inclusive, nurturing, and safe environment. The students are engaged in various learning opportunities to provide and create support systems for those who are different from the expected norm.

How does the school support children with special needs?

The Shriram Millennium schools acknowledge the needs of special children and endeavour to provide opportunities for inclusive education for children who have difficulty coping with the regular curriculum but do not require the facilities of a special school.

The school has a dedicated Special Education Needs department, which works towards meeting the needs of differently abled children so that every child gets learning opportunities that build and enhance their required skills.

Where are The Shriram Millennium Schools located?

The Shriram Millennium Schools currently have four campuses.

Noida

The Shriram Millennium School, Noida campus was the first to be established in 2010 and is situated off the Greater Noida Expressway, in Sector 135.

D-108, Block D, Sector 41, Noida

The Shriram Millennium School International Junior Wing, Noida campus, is a proposed Class V school established in the year 2024. Surrounded by expansive green spaces, the school aims to offer students a comprehensive education and excellence in learning within a safe and supportive environment that fosters strong values.

Faridabad

The Shriram Millennium School, Faridabad, established in 2012 is located in Sector 81 in Greater Faridabad, which is considered the next best destination of this region of NCR.

Gurugram

The Shriram Millennium School Gurugram, established in 2018 is located in sector 64 easily accessible from Delhi and within Gurugram. Nestling amidst verdant greenery, the campus has been planned to ensure various child friendly learning spaces for the children.

What are the transport facilities provided by the schools?

The Shriram Millennium Schools provide bus facilities for children, with buses that travel to various parts of NCR and New Delhi. Each bus is air-conditioned and equipped with first-aid kits, fire safety equipment, and CCTV. The school and parents can monitor the bus’s movement through GPS using a customized phone app.

To ensure the safety of children, teachers and/or trained support staff accompany them on the buses in the morning and afternoon. Detailed information about bus routes is available at each specific campus.

What is the school uniform?

The school uniform includes

  • T-shirts in House colours which are red, blue, yellow and green and, formal pinstriped shirts.
  • Comfortable navy-blue track pants, formal navy-blue trousers/shorts/skirts
  • Navy blue pullovers/ sweatshirts/ jackets
  • Navy blue socks and white socks
  • Black sneakers

The school provides tasty, nutritious, and wholesome vegetarian lunch as an optional facility for all children from Classes Kalika/EYP 3 to XII. The school campuses have spacious Lunch Halls that are kept clean and hygienic. Teachers monitor the children during mealtimes to ensure they eat a balanced meal and develop healthy eating habits. Children are required to bring a healthy tiffin from home for morning snack time and lunch. Junk food is not allowed in school tiffins.

Do the school campuses have canteens?

The schools have canteens on the campus where freshly prepared snacks and healthy drinks are available for sale.

What sports facilities do you offer?

TSMS recognises the importance of sports in the holistic development of a child and strongly encourages student participation by providing physical infrastructure, trained coaches, compulsory PE period, sports competitions and events.

Students enjoy basketball, soccer, cricket, badminton, swimming, golf, Yoga, gymnastics, athletics, Taekwondo and Table Tennis as part of the school curriculum and have the opportunity to participate in track and field events, various school sports programmes, as well as training in specific disciplines through after school coaching programmes.

What are the criteria for the selection of Shri Educators?

The most important criterion for the selection of a candidate is that they should have a positive attitude and should love children. They must exhibit a strong value system, be open-minded and willing to learn. The applicant has to send the resume / CV and, if there is a vacancy, is called for a first-level interaction with a panel. This is followed by demo classes and filling in the Personal Data Form. After these stages, the candidate is required to appear for an interaction with the Director. Based on these, an assessment is made of the applicant’s subject expertise, ability to communicate that knowledge given the class dynamics and the qualities exhibited that are valued in a Shri educator.

How does the school ensure the safety and security of the children?

The safety and security of the children is of paramount importance to the school and a host of stringent measures, as laid down in our well-defined Safety procedures, have been implemented on the campus and in school buses.

The school has round-the-clock security in the campus. Our trained and efficient security personnel closely monitor the entry and exit of all visitors in the school. Parents or authorized caretakers are required to present the I-card issued by the school at the entrance to pick up their wards from the school or designated bus stops. All visitors are allowed entry by prior appointment and are issued Visitor cards/gate passes. CCTVs and necessary fire safety equipment are installed all across the school campus and in school buses. Evacuation drills, following the guidelines provided by the state and district authorities, are conducted regularly and all staff and children are sensitized to the importance and need for following safety procedures.

The school has a well-equipped infirmary with trained nurses and, an ambulance with required medical equipment to ensure swift medical aid. All buses have first aid kits and the support staff as well as the teachers are trained to administer immediate medical relief as required.
